Dylan William Black (born August 31, 1994) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to EFF and GWA, where he performs under the ring name Dylan Black. He is the current EFF Intercontinental Champion in his first reign.
Black first signed with BDW, winning the BDW Intercontinental Championship Tournament and becoming the inaugural BDW Intercontinental Champion, defeating Terry Shaw in a singles match, and then Kenji Yuri in a steel cage match at BDW Uncensored. Black kept the Intercontinental Championship during the rebranding from BDW to EFF.
Dylan Black is currently in a relationship with fellow EFF superstar Margaret Quinn.
Black was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was homeschooled for most of his life. An avid wrestling fan throughout his entire life, he grew up idolizing the likes of The Undertaker, Sting (wrestler), Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. After making the decision to become a professional wrestler, he began training at Boston Wrestling Factory in 2008 at 14 years old under former professional wrestler Apocalypse.
Professional wrestling career
Black Diamond Wrestling/Extreme Fighting Federation/JCee Productions Wrestling (BDW/EFF/JCPW)
Dylan Black made his official wrestling debut on episode 3 of BDW in the BDW Intercontinental Championship tournament, defeating Jody Kidd in the openers, Kira Yamato in the Quarter Finals, Terry Shaw in the semi Finals, and Kenji Yuri in the Finals to win the BDW Intercontinental Championship. On August 23rd, 2016, BDW was rebranded to EFF. Black started a feud with Dyl Dynamite, culminating to a match at EFF Sell Your Soul, where Black was defeated.
On January 10th, Dylan Black wrestled for JCPW, defeating Will W on episode 1 of JCPW. He then appeared in Episode 2s JCPW World Championship tournament, defeating Kenji Yuri in the quarter finals then losing to Crimson in the semi finals. The next episode, he and fellow EFF star Thayne Bell, aka The EFF Corre, participated in a 4 team JCPW Tag Team Championship tournament, first defeating Chris "Frost" Demon and Crimson and then Havoc in the finals, winning the JCPW Tag Team Championships. Havoc and The EFF Corre fought the next night with the titles on the line, with Havoc being victorious. Dylan Black fought and defeated DOA on episode 4 of JCPW, which would be his final appearence.
The Draft/Post Draft
On July 27, Dylan Black was announced as the #1 overall draft pick, and the #1 draft pick of EFF Mayhem. Dylan Black had been the target of attacks the weeks following Sell Your Soul, concerning the controversial releases of JC Wolfe, Jordan Rodriguez, Ace. On September 22nd, Dylan Black defeated Donny Octave to advance in the EFF World Heavyweight Championship tournament.
Wrestling Non-Stop Entertainment(WNE)
On October 16th, Black debuted in WNE in a 2-out-of-3 falls match against Mr. Rice Jr. The loss in that match led to a series of matches between these two, leading to a match for the vacant WNE Championship at WNE Danger Zone. However, prior to the match, Black was attacked and injured, losing his spot in the championship match. Black returned on January 11th, successfully defeating WNE Champion Raw Dawg for his championship. This led to a series of matches between those two where Black emerged victorious, defending his championship 3 times against Raw Dawg in a variety of match types. Black then began feuding with Terry Shaw over the WNE Intercontinental Championship, where Black won the Intercontinental Championship and became a double champion. Black later joined the Bullet Club and began feuding with a mysterious "Higher Power," who defeated him for the Intercontinental Championship. They fought in a Mask vs Career mask at WNE Wrestlemania II with both championships on the line. Black emerged victorious and the Higher Power was revealed to be WNE Developmental Star Butch Sheffied. Black then merged the 2 championships into the WNE Undisputed Championship, and then quit WNE and the BC, attacking the last remaining member of the BC Finn Balor.
Kings of Wrestling(KOW)
On October 21st, Black debuted against Daniel Bryan in a 2-out-of-three falls match. Later that night, Black accepted the open challenge for the KOW Extreme Championship and lost. A week later, Black defeated Issac Taylor for the KOW World Championship, and went down as the last and longest reigning KOW World Champion as the company failed to thrive after that due to sinking ratings and numerous roster members leaving.
Global Wrestling Alliance(GWA)
Debut in Season 26
On April 23rd, Black debuted against former world champion The Killer and lost. Black had various matches against the likes of Thayne Bell, Doomtrain, and Mike Lio while feuding with Darksyd3 over who was the rightful future of GWA. Their feud culminated at Pick Your Poison in a Dance with the Devil match, where Black was defeated and sustained an injury. Black returned from injury two weeks later and had a series of matches with John E. Gravely, after which Gravely proclaimed Black as Rookie of the Year. Black began feuding with Blitz, a newcomer who proclaimed Black was over-rated and he was rightful Rookie of the Year. This led to a match at Red, White, Black & Blue, where Black defeated Blitz. Black then aligned with The Brotherhood and attacked International Champion Doomtrain. GWA Management announced that at the final PPV of the season, Black would challenge Doomtrain for the International Championship. Black defeated Doom to win his first championship in GWA on the final night of action during Season 26.
On September 24th, Dylan Black fought and defeated Kaneki, now known as CA-Synz, in an International Championship title defense. He then entered the Riot in the Ring match as the #3 entrant, and lasted to the final 5 before being eliminated by Brewer at 30 minutes. On October 8th, Black lost the International Championship to Thayne Bell on Sunday Showcase on October 8th. Two weeks later, on October 22nd, Black defeated Bell to become International Champion again. At November Reign, Black would drop the title to Bell in a Texas Deathmatch and was injured during the match. Black then returned for the GWA Tag Team Championship match, siding with Doomtrain against Mike Lio and Johnny Bulldog. He ultimately cost Doomtrain the match, hitting him with "Crimson," his 2x4 covered in barbed wire and nails.
Global Wrestling Promotion (GWP)
On August 13th, Black announced via Twitter he was participating in the 10 show GWP Homecoming Tour. He pinned Aiden Ca$h at GWA Inception to win a shot at the GWP Totality Championship at The Great Indian Bash. At TGIB, he lost to the Totality Champion Shane Trudex. At Global Domination 1, he lost a Television Championship match to Xavier Sanchez and Logan Burgess.
Revolution Pro Wrestling (RPW)
Black showed up at the RPW PPV, Immortal Crossroads, and attacked and injured Hiro Kemono prior to his match with MI3 for the Interstate Championship, aligning with the Black Diamond Society.
Icon Championship Wrestling (ICW)
Black debuted in a match against Steven Dackle for the #1 contendership of the ICW Shooting Star Championship, where he won via DQ. Black lost a Fatal 4Way match at ICW Castle of Glass in a Windshield match, where the winner would receive a 1981 Camaro. Black faced Bobby Barratt in a match for the Shooting Star Championship, coming up short off a distraction from owner Lukas Rieter. He then entered the Icon Rumble in the number 8 spot, but was the runner-up to Chaos Kidd. Later that week, it was announced ICW would be closing down.
Black teamed up with Dackle to defeat Michael Storm and Jason Justice on End of Days Night 4.
Firestorm Wrestling Alliance(FWA)
Black signed with FWA and was inserted into their ColdWar Championship tournament, walking out in the semi finals. Black was later seen accepting a sum of money from Levi Kosloff, the GM, and at the end of the show, beat down and dragged out Team AXW leader Scorpion as Duke Kosloff announced Black and Dackle, now called The Darkness, would be members of Team FWA at the FWA vs AXW PPV. Black then advanced to the finals of the FWA Firestorm Championship tournament, scheduled to face Lethe and AK Andrews at an unknown date for the belt. Black and Dackle were awarded the FWA Fire and Ice Tag Team Championships to close off Episode 2.
