Offline - The ITF[]
Matrix was apart of offline CAW leagues CBW and DJW where he debuted at. He made his debut at New-NAW Presents CAWVasion in a losing effort inside the Horror Chamber match. He started training for the New-NAW Independent Training Facility. On the pilot episode for the revamped Training Facility, the episode featured a vignette for Marcus Matrix's debut. On the following episode, he would defeat Lyonel Dickerson to earn an ITF World Heavyweight title shot against Jack Toss. This match would never happen as both men got a sudden call up for the start of season 2 of New-NAW.
New-NAW[]
He would defeat Drew McIntyre in his debut match on Mayhem 26. He would enter the vacant New-NAW Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal at New-NAW Anarchy II: The New Beginning but would lose to Joe Omega. His next appearance would be a victory over Drew McIntyre once again at Velocity 80. On December 28 2016 Matrix defeated Movado to become New-NAW Hardcore Champion a few seconds later he loses the belt to That Sports Guy.
