The WEDF Tag Team Championship is the top prize of the tag team division on WEDF Smackdown. It was established on March 3, 2012 at WEDF Lashing Back 3 when Jeri-Show defeated the Million $ Congregation to unify the WEDF Tag Team Championships and the WEDF World Tag Team Championships. Initially, it was thought that the World Tag Team Championships would simply become the primary belts. However, new belts were later revealed and the titles announced the Undisputed Tag Team Championship. After The Shield's victory over The Dream Team at Last Resort, they defected the Tag Team titles to Smackdown, making them only exclusive to Smackdown thanks to an exchange between General Managers JBL and CM Punk. JBL then brought back the resurrected World Tag Team Championship, which became exclusive to RAW. The Shield used the free bird rule during their match against Kane and Undertaker at Night of Champions: Extreme Rules as Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose defended the titles. The current champions are The New Day (Xavier Woods and Big E) as the two defeated The Bar's Sheamus and Cesaro at Summerfest 3, in dedication for their injured member, Kofi Kingston.
